The Seniors' Home
Maintenance Program is run by the Yukon Council on Aging and is
funded by Yukon Housing. Its goal is to allow seniors, elders
and disabled persons to remain in their own homes by making
available a pool of workers to assist in doing those jobs that
every homeowner faces. Some examples are: lawn and yard
maintenance including lawn mowing, raking, cleaning flowerbeds,
or gardens, assisting with planting, splitting and stacking
wood, minor carpentry or painting, snow shovelling and window
washing. Examples inside the home include, vacuuming, dusting
and washing walls.
Although there is
a cost to the senior/elder associated with this service, our
goal is to provide workers for a fair and reasonable rate. The
price for each job is negotiated directly between the Client and
the Worker. In an effort to supply a secure workforce to our
Clients, all worker applicants must have a background check
completed by the RCMP. If you have any
questions, or for further information please call me at our
Phone number: 667 - HELP (4357).
Our office hours are from
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday thru
Friday.
There is a voice mailbox on this number so you can leave a
message any time day or night, should you reach the recording. I
will return your call before I leave the office or in the case
of after hours calls, I will call you the following business
day. -
